Simulation Center

Union Hospital, Ivy Tech Community College-Wabash Valley, Indiana University School of Medicine, and Indiana State University have created a learning environment in which medical and allied health students and resident physicians learn to work together to care for patients using real-life scenarios and life-like electronic "patients" that mimic actual human conditions. The Simulation Center enables the partners to consolidate resources, including programmable electronic mannequins, from each institution. This 7,000 square foot center is housed in the former intensive care unit in Union Hospital's West Building. Simulation allows learners to integrate the art and science of patient interaction, decision making, and clinical skills using scenarios that occur in the real world on simulators or "living-textbooks".
