Union Health

From humble beginnings as a two-story frame house on North Seventh Street to a 380-bed regional referral center serving patients in west-central Indiana and east-central Illinois, Union Hospital celebrates 125 years of service to the Wabash Valley.  Union Hospital will celebrate Founders’ Day on August 17 in honor of its founding on that day in 1892 by Drs. B.F. Swafford and L.J. Weinstein – along with various employee celebrations including Doctors’ Day and Hospital Week . Beginning in January, anniversary signage will be posted around campus. Beginning in February, highlights from Union Hospital’s 125-year history will be shared via social media with the broader community in a series of “Throwback Thursday” postings.
